Students can get a head start on the dizzying preparations for June graduation and life after college at a special event on campus on Tuesday, March 8.
The UC Davis Bookstore and Cal Aggie Alumni Association are co-sponsoring the annual Grad Fair, where graduating students can order their caps and gowns, graduation portraits, diploma frames, announcements and class rings.
“The Grad Fair is the first thing that gets students in the graduation mind-set,” said Kelly Holt, commencement coordinator for the campus bookstore. “I see the excitement beginning to build there.”
Helpful information
Representatives from the undergraduate colleges will be on hand to answer students’ questions about filing for graduation (the deadline is April 8) and registering to participate in their ceremony (the deadlines, as early as April 8, are specific to each college).
The event also offers information about the 25-day “Essential Europe” Graduation Tour, the senior class giving challenge, and preparation courses for graduate school.
To help them launch their new lives, students will also find financial advice, career counseling, and information on health, auto, homeowner and tenant insurance.
The event will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Freeborn Hall.
Students can also place their graduation orders online with the UC Davis Bookstore. The website features two popular packages, including the ceremony regalia and a one-year membership to the alumni association.
