fees for fall quarter.

Now that your student is headed for UC Davis, you may
be wondering just where your money is going.
Here is a breakdown of UC Davis fees for the fall quarter:
ASUCD: $35. This fee funds the Unitrans bus
service and the Associated Students of UC
Davis,
which represents undergraduates.
Memorial Union Fee: $28.50. This fee finances building maintenance and bond repayment for construction of Recreation Hall and the Memorial Union Building, which houses the ASUCD and other student programs.
Facilities and Campus Enhancements Fee: $24.
This fee became effective in 1999 and funds the construction
and maintenance of an Activities
and Recreation Center,
an Aquatics Complex and a stadium; improvements to
other recreation programs; and student recruitment and retention
efforts.
Campus Expansion Initiative: $20. This fee , approved by students last year, begins this fall for:
- athletic grants-in-aid for Division I play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association;
- a new student health center;
- expansion of the Coffee House;
- improvements to the Unitrans bus service;
- funding for sports clubs and intramural sports;
- a "Principles of Community" center; and
- financial aid.
Student Services Maintenance Fee / Student Activities and Services Initiative Fee: $92. The temporary Student Services Maintenance Fee was passed by students in response to budget cuts in the 1990s. The fee was replaced by the Student Activities and Services Initiative fee and funds athletic and sports programs.
Student Facilities Safety Fee: $22. Passed by the Regents in 1995, this fee funds seismic and safety projects in student facilities.
Student Services Health Fee: $41. Students
enacted this fee in 1996 to increase services offered
by the Cowell
Student Health Center.
Health Insurance: $195. This fee is
mandatory for UC undergraduates unless they are able
to prove comparable coverage under another plan.
Registration Fee: $238. This Regents fee funds non-academic services and activities in support of students including counseling services, learning skills services and student information systems.
Educational Fee: $1,424. This Regents fee funds non-instructional student services, such as the library, and financial aid.
Total: $2,119.50.
